Rhine Falls tickets at a glance
Rhine Falls tickets cover three separate things: the free public access to the basin on the north bank, the paid tour through Schloss Laufen on the south bank, and boat rides that you book on their own. Knowing which one you need saves money and queues. Many visitors only walk to the basin, and others pay for the castle platforms and add a short boat ride.
Guided tours from Zurich bundle transport and entry, which is handy if you do not want to deal with several tickets. The tour list below shows the current options, and our tours page explains how they differ.

Our picks: Rhine Falls tickets
Our take: the coach tour with access at Laufen Castle suits a guided half day, the entry-only bus trip is the simplest way to see the platforms. The combination with the Zurich city tour adds a sightseeing ride.
Hand-picked tours, booked through GetYourGuide and Viator. Prices are indicative starting prices in Swiss francs (as of October 2026). Tap a tour for live availability and the current price in your currency.

Rhine Falls entrance fee
What is free and what is not.
The falls themselves have no general entrance fee. You can reach the basin at Schlössli Wörth for free. Free access to the basin does not mean that the restaurant or other attractions are free, only the public viewing area. On the south bank, the tour through Schloss Laufen is paid. It covers the castle visit with the Historama, the panorama path and the viewing platforms.
Tariffs published by the operator: adults CHF 5, children aged 6 to 15 CHF 3. Groups of 15 to 29 people pay CHF 3 each, and groups of 30 or more pay CHF 2 each. You can buy tickets online. Tickets for wheelchair users, for prams and for groups of 15 or more are sold only at the visitor centre. Check the operator's current information before a group trip.
The Historama is closed for renovation until 27 November 2026, so parts of the visit are limited until then. Check the operator's current tariff before you go. The platforms remain open. Our page on Schloss Laufen covers the platforms, the lift and the station.

Boat tickets
Booked separately from the castle tour.
Boat rides are not part of the castle ticket. The rock boat starts at CHF 22.50 with the ferry included, and the short round trip starts at CHF 10.50. Both prices are "from" prices published by the operator. The rock boat ticket is valid for the date and departure time you choose. See our boat tour page for durations, the rock stop and the season. On coach tours the boat is usually an extra.
